London-based executive head chef Nigel Mendham is coming to Dubai to host a one-off dinner with executive chef Martin Cahill on April 26 at West 14th steakhouse.
The menu will combine dishes from both parts of the world, with Seared Scottish Langoustines; Pimms and custard pudding; and garden leaves with Arabic vegetables; among choices on the menu.
The Manhattan style grill and bar is based at Oceana Beach Club on Palm Jumeirah and managed by Dukes Dubai, a luxury hotel owned and developed by Seven Tides that is due to open later this year.
Cahill has spent the majority of his 20-year career overseas, with senior culinary positions for hotel chains including Mandarin Oriental and Hyatt in Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Mendham, a Michelin star recipient, also has around two decades of experience in the restaurant industry and currently works at Thirty Six By Nigel Mendham, located within Dukes St. James in London.
“Teaming up with chef Cahill to create this special menu has been a thoroughly enjoyable creative journey. I am looking forward to touching down in Dubai, visiting the markets, getting to work in the kitchen and personally greeting the guests attending this stand out event,” said Mendham.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to work with chef Mendham. Together, we are striving to create a memorable meal that combines both the best of British with an Arabian twist and we are excited to be welcoming him to West 14th in April,” added Cahill.
“The two-chefs dinner at West 14th is just the first of many initiatives planned by Dukes Dubai to leverage our culinary expertise and keep the offering at West 14th a step ahead of the game,” commented Dukes Dubai general manager Mete Atakuman.
