The launch date for new restaurant Totora Cebicheria Peruana has been confirmed as Monday, May 30.

The venue, serving Peruvian cuisine, is set over two floors in DIFC Gate Village and plans for its arrival in Dubai were announced back in February.

The name Totora comes from a reed grown at Peru’s Lake Titicaca, where indigenous residents use the dried plant to make a floating sail boat similar to a canoe or surf board.

Alongside Peruvian dishes on the menu, the bar at Totora Cebicheria Peruana will display fresh Peruvian fruits, which will be used in purees to create cocktails.

Dubai is gearing up for a total of 14 Peruvian restaurants by the end of this year and Totora Cebicheria is the third to open in the DIFC district alone so far this year, following the launch of Ceviche, and Mayta by Jaime Pesaque.
