The Grohe Watercare programme. The Grohe Watercare programme.

Sanitary fittings manufacturer Grohe implemented the “Turn Water into Food” social responsibility project, which aims to raise awareness of the contribution that would be made in the preservation of water resources by saving water in public areas with high water consumption levels.

The project has been initiated in collaboration with the Şişli Mosque Foundation in Turkey. In 2015, Grohe Turkey replaced the taps at the Şişli Mosque with its Ecojoy products, achieving 18% water efficiency.

To further strengthen the relationship with Şişli Mosque, “Turn Water into Food”, a project implemented by Grohe Middle East and Africa, was supported by Şişli Mosque Foundation.

The cash equivalent of the water savings was used to create 1,000 Ramadan packages containing food supplies and delivered to those in need.

Grohe president, East Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa Simon G Shaya explained Grohe’s approach to sustainability and water conservation: “As a leading provider of sanitary fittings Grohe’s sustainable business practices is a commitment to the ecological and economical use of natural resources and the protection of the environment. As water is an increasingly valuable resource many initiatives are being launched globally by Grohe, to help preserve this resource.”
