Dubai-based Japanese restaurant Okku has introduced a wine preserving system that gives servers the freedom to pour a glass of wine without ever opening the bottle.

This method allows the restaurant, which won Restaurant Team of the Year - Independent at the Caterer Middle East Awards 2016 recently, to select 11 wines for diners to sample, without committing to purchasing the full bottle.

“It’s fantastic being able to now offer our discerning guests the opportunity to taste some of the rarest and most sought after wines in the world by the glass.

"By having this new offering it has helped to garner the renowned OKKU guest experience,” said Okku head sommelier Brendon Charles.

Wines available at Okku using the Coravin wine system range in price from US$82 (AED299) to $326 (AED1,199) per glass.
