Dubai is set to welcome a waterpark at Deira Islands, according to developer Nakheel.
The upcoming Deira Island waterpark is part of an updated masterplan for the RIU Palace Peninsula Resort, developed by Dubai government developer Nakheel and Spanish hotelier RIU Hotels and Resorts, according to local media sources.
The US $245 million (AED 900 million) resort on the manmade islands will be the first all-inclusive four-star hotel concept in Dubai and will feature 800 rooms.

The waterpark will make up a tenth of the available space on the 3.4 million ft2 plot at Deira Islands.
Construction is likely to start on the resort by the end of 2016, with an opening date projected for the third quarter of 2019.
