Hilton Hotels & Resorts is planning to expand operations in Egypt by adding five hotels under its management in the coming years, according to local media.
Speaking on the new expansion, Hilton vice president of Egypt and Levant Operations Christian Muhr noted the company plans to manage a new hotel in the Pyramids area, with implementation set to begin in 2017.
He added that it plans to launch a 197 room DoubleTree by Hilton in Ain Sokhna by the end of 2017, as well as another hotel in Ain Sokhna under the Hilton brand.

The company also plans to launch the Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi Hotel, as part of the expansion plan, while a management contract has been signed for another hotel in Damietta, and the Saudi Egyptian Construction Company (SECON) signed a contract with Hilton to manage a four-star hotel in new Damietta.
“We believe in the institutions of the Egyptian market and seek to increase the number of our hotels, especially as growth opportunities in the tourism sector are very large. I expect the hotels carrying the Hilton brand to triple the current number within 10 years,” said Muhr.
