A Turkish food and beverage service provider has won a contract to work with Muscat International Airport for the next decade.

Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) signed the agreement with BTA to manage the F&B offering the airport, which covers an area of 5,000m2.

Time of Oman reported that OAMC CEO Sheikh Aimen Al Hosni said: “BTA was chosen based on strict criteria with regards to quality and commitment to hospitality and reception, in addition it its global reputation, which has qualified them to win the contract for the next 10 years.”

“The agreement states that 15% of the area shall be reserved for local SMEs. This will encourage SMEs to work closely with big international companies, which in turn will have a positive impact on their performance and experience, as well as grow competitively both locally and internationally in this sector.”

BTA, a subsidiary of TAV Airports, was founded in 1999 and has become one of the biggest catering companies of Turkey
