Tub of Butter, a fine foods concept, has opened its doors in Dubai, offering an all-day casual dining space as well as a retail space.
Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the venues counters stock fresh pastries, desserts, Italian cold cuts, olives, jams, and a selection of Mediterranean cheeses from the deli. The rotisserie serves roast chicken daily, and pizzas are baked in the Mediterranean style oven on-site.
The breakfast menu offers fresh fruits, eggs benedict, and crushed avocados with chilli chia seeds & lime on toasted sourdough bread. Signature a la carte dishes include pizza with crispy smoked turkey, Kalamata, passata, mozzarella, artichoke & ruccola, a mozzarella, ruccola & basil pasta salad infused with olive oil, and the loukoumades coated in a sugared syrup.
The retail space offers a selection of artisanal products from all around the world stocking bespoke Japanese tea blends, dried pastas, 23-carat gold truffle honey, diamond salt from Pakistan and Madagascan pepper, with the option to created a customised gift hamper.
The name, Tub of Butter is taken from the expression: ‘landed in a tub of butter’.The interiors include modern artwork, wooden storage boxes stacked to the open ceiling, rustic glass lights and booths.
“It’s been my dream to open a homegrown concept since I moved to the UAE two years ago, and my influence for the Mediterranean menu came from my visit to Greece. Tub of Butter is the perfect place for a relaxing coffee morning, lunch with the kids, or a quiet dinner. There is so much to see and explore as soon as you enter the restaurant," said Tala Khamis, managing partner at Tub of Butter, in a statement.
