The first phase of the US$ 1 billion Miral development project, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, on Yas Island i is on track for its 2018 opening, with construction at full speed ahead and rides already in the midst of production, according to sister publication Construction Week.
Miral chairman His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak said: “It is incredibly exciting to announce that we are bringing the iconic Warner Bros. brand to Yas Island. Miral’s investment in the Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi theme park is estimated at 1 billion dollars and is a milestone in the emirate’s journey to put Abu Dhabi on the global map and become one of the world’s leading tourist destinations."

Working with our partners at Miral, we’ll bring this expertise to Yas Island, one of the world’s leading entertainment destinations, to create a fully-interactive, innovative and unique experience that will allow fans of all ages to experience the most exciting aspects of Warner Bros. in a completely immersive environment," said Warner Bros. Entertainment chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara.
Miral is developing Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi under license from Warner Bros. Consumer Products. Located next to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld, the mega theme park will showcase popular characters from the American studio's content library, a highlight of which includes the DC Comics Super Heroes universe including Batman, Superman and Wonder Women as well as Warner Bros. Cartoons such as Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo and Tom and Jerry. Visitors will experience Gotham City, Metropolis and the cartoon worlds of Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera in the park. Abu Dhabi expects that the new park will elevate Yas Island's annual visitor figures from 25 million in 2015 to 30 million by 2018, the report states.
