Riyadh is leading the current hotel boom in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with 48 projects in the pipeline, followed closely by Jeddah.
This is according to the 2017 Saudi Arabia Hotel Construction Overview Report prepared by TopHotelProjects for the 5th edition of The Hotel Show Saudi Arabia, which will be taking place on April 4 to 6 in Jeddah.
Across the Kingdom, the report revealed that a total of 170 hotels and 60,395 rooms are presently in various stages of construction.
The influx of international hotel brands into the country came after Saudi Vision 2030 was unveiled by the authorities. One of the earliest players in the country is Hilton, which plans to expand further with up to 29 hotels in the pipeline, while the latest entrants are Rocco Forte, with a recent opening in Jeddah, and Nobu Hospitality, which is expected to open in the Kingdom for the first time with a Riyadh hotel in 2017.
