Hilton continues to expand its regional mid-market portfolio, recently signing a cooperation agreement with Egyptian real estate developer Misr Italia Properties for a new Hilton Garden Inn at Cairo Business Park, Egyptian local news reports said.
The new hotel would offer services including a gym and fitness centre, a garden lounge, a swimming pool, and a modern restaurant, the Daily News Egypt reported.
According to Carlos Khneisser, Hilton MENA vice president of development, the expanded Suez Canal and New Cairo are both attracting significant investments, and it is the right time for the company to invigourate its Egyptian portfolio with new projects in these emerging locations, the report said.
The Egyptian addition for Hilton Garden Inn follows months after Hilton also signed a management agreement with the Muscat National Development and Investment Company to open Hilton Garden Inn Muscat - Al Khuwair, the company's first hotel in Muscat and second in Oman, which is expected to open in 2019.
John Greenleaf, global head, Hilton Garden Inn, said in a statement "As we continue to expand our presence in the Middle East, travellers to Oman will soon be able to experience the very best in mid-market accomodation as we expand Hilton Garden Inn to the country. We have recently established the brand in the UAE and grown its presence in Saudi Arabia. With 16 hotels either trading or under development in the Middle East, our global footprint of 650 Hilton Garden Inn properties will continue to expand to include a growing list of exciting destinations."
Located close to the Royal Opera House and Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Hilton Garden Inn Muscat will feature 232 guest rooms, a 24-hour business center, complimentary Wi-Fi, 147 square meters of meeting space and the brand's signature 24-hour Pavilion Pantry.
