The major problem faced by housekeepers in the region revolves around training, learning and development, along with retention of the talent. This is according to Hotelity sales manager Usman Ghani.
He shared his opinion on the challenges housekeepers face. “Housekeeping is an ever-improving field and the upcoming years will bring new challenges of meeting the high level of expectation and balancing it with the cost efficiency. Challenges of dealing with the employee training v/s retention and skills demands in view of increased trend of outsourced force.
Sustainability and eco-friendliness with the best work efficiency is a constant challenge that the professionals face as well,” he said.
Meanwhile, from a supplier’s perspective Ghani is optimistic about, “the expected rise in number of travellers and announcements of new hotel developments”.
Hospitality supplier, Hotelity launched H-Lab and will soon launch a mock-up guest bedroom as part of its offerings to the industry.
“Hotelity’s recent launch of the H-Lab facility and the future launch of the mock-up room has already made us known for offering unique products and services,” said Hotelity sales manager Usman Ghani.
He added: “Hotelity has been very proactive in this aspect as we have launched an F&B lab and a fully equipped mock-up guest room, first of its kind in the region, which is designed as the creative hub for the F&B and housekeeping professionals to inspire and experiment new concepts.”
To back these developments, Hotelity has launched new products in conjunction with Manusec in a bid to work with French artisans - Safepod (staff lockers) from Safemark and mini steamers from Manusec.
“We have also added ADE Germany to our housekeeping portfolio along with other F&B brands like Emile Henry,” Ghani added.
On the horizon is the imminent launch of a luxury bedding line from the company, and Ghani gave more details. “This will match market expectations in the Middle East. The in-house expertise of housekeeping would be a key factor for this success as the portfolio of producers partnered with this initiative are the industry leaders.”
