IHG executives hailed the 'Dubai Way' initiative as a platform for their employees to contribute towards the success of Dubai’s tourism industry and in the process further enhance their individual careers.

Crowne Plaza Dubai - Deira area general manager George Koumendakos said: “We are focused on developing our people on the job and developing them in terms of their knowledge so they are able to advance in their careers. Dubai Way helps promote Dubai as a great tourism destination, and the more our employees know about Dubai, they will be more informed about their role in helping tourists enjoy their stay in the emirate.  The success of our employees in the Dubai Way programme will certainly be an inspiration to other staff in tourist-facing roles in the emirate.”

“The Dubai Way programme is an incredible and welcome learning tool that provides us with an integration of prior knowledge with new ones, to incur a rich structure of knowledge on Dubai’s culture, heritage, history and the vast tourism opportunities. The learning and information received through the course are insightful, interesting and very well organised. This can certainly add volumes of confidence in our guest facing colleagues, in terms of the knowledge they have of the city, transforming them into Ambassadors of Dubai and enhancing the hotel’s guest experience," said Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts learning & development manager Sharon Kovoor.

InterContinental Dubai Festival City director of learning & development Georges Khawam said: “Dubai Way was a really successful activity for our front office staff who followed the programme. The feedback I got was that they liked it a lot.  They appreciate the fact that the content is not boring and theoretical, and they could learn about Dubai in one place in an organised way. We are certain that Dubai Way will be of great benefit to our front office staff, both newcomers and existing employees.”
