Set in Dubai’s H Hotel, Zahira, which opened in May 2017, will be closing down seven and a half months after its grand launch.
Speaking to Caterer Middle East, Zahira's head chef Greg Malouf said: "After a wonderful year at Zahira, creating original menus, special Lebanese and Australian wine dinners and a glorious Ramadan feasting month of dishes I have decided to move on with the blessing of the H Hotel… to exchange my apron for a more hands off role in demanding kitchens to raise awareness of how amazing Middle Eastern food could be, leading the pursuit of putting Lebanese food on a pedestal. Thank you Zahira and thank you unique, astonishing and supportive kitchen for giving me the best you have."
The modern Middle Eastern restaurant at the H Hotel featured a menu that aimed to take guests on a trip with the Art of Mezza, Art of Sharing, Art of Garden and the Art of Sweet Design and Tradition. The Art of Feasting lunch menu, which varied each week allowed diners to experience the best ingredients and flavours of modern Middle Eastern cuisine.
There is no word yet on whether the space will be replaced with different concept.
