Tunisia has restarted Emirates Airline flights to the country again after halting them following outcry over security measures by the United Arab Emirates targeting Tunisian women, reports AFP.
Tunisia authorities suspended Emirates Airlines flights on Sunday, December 24, 2017 after United Arab Emirates security delays. According to reports, a number of Tunisian women had said their travel to the Gulf state on Emirates had been delayed and some had been forced to undergo additional examination of their visas.
The transport ministry said it had "decided to suspend" Emirates flights to Tunis "until the airline is able to find the appropriate solution to operate its flights in accordance with international law and agreements," the report added.
In a statement on Thursday, Tunisia's transport ministry announced the "resumption of Emirates flights to Tunisia" after the "lifting of measures against Tunisian women".
