Saudi Arabia’s recently introduced new electronic visas for international visitors that enabled sports enthusiasts to attend a recent sporting event has ushered in a new era of tourism in the country.

The Business Reporter, distributed with The UK’s Daily Telegraph, has reported that Saudi Arabia has recently introduced new electronic visas for international visitors.

According to the report, the launch of the e-Visas allowed sports enthusiasts to attend the recently held Formula E championship race, which was held at Ad Diriyah, a heritage site on the outskirts of the country's capital,  Riyadh.

The report also said that the new visas are aimed at “bridging the gap between cultures and enabling an uncomplicated process for foreign travellers accessing the country.”

The launch of the e-Visas is in line with the country’s Vision 2030 objective to place Saudi Arabia on the global tourism map, the report added.
