Almost a quarter of people employed in the Middle East hospitality industry have been offered a period of unpaid leave by their company in the past six months.
This is the latest finding from the Hotelier Middle East Salary Survey 2009, in which 22.5% of respondents said they had been offered unpaid leave.
When asked how much they agreed with a series of statements, only 45.3% of the respondents said they “looked forward to the future with complete confidence”.
Nearly 40% said they felt “less secure” in their roles than they did six months previously.
