During his tenure as chairman of Bench Events and as a board director of STR Global, Jonathan Worsley has overseen the growth of the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC) from 300 delegates attending in its first year, to 1000 attending in 2008.
The events ever growing loyal audience has been crowned with some high profile patrons in HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum and HRH Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud; Worsley says he is delighted to see such weight being thrown behind the conference.
Bench Events has had a huge impact on the region’s hospitality sector through AHIC, bringing together a unique forum of industry players and in Worsley’s words by “providing a platform for the Middle East to promote itself internationally”.

Worsley claims his staff would describe him as “exciting” to work for, but he ensures not to expect anything from his employees that he would not expect from himself.
If he wasn’t in his current role, Worsley says his dream job would be to have his own investment vehicle along the lines of the TV show Dragons Den.
