Corey Oliver's training regime is aimed at getting clients to exercise outside, away from gyms and air-conditioning.
The co-owner of Dubai-based Physical Advantage has opened a fitness firm that concentrates on the Abu Dhabi market.
The Original Fitness Company aims to bring the ‘boot-camp’ style fitness routine to the UAE capital and will also run specialised sessions just for women, said company managing director Corey Oliver.
“We wanted to get people out of the gyms, out of the air-con, out of the boring circuit classes, get them outdoors on the beaches with the fresh air and give them different ways of exercising and coming up with innovative ways for the UAE that they haven’t experienced before,” said Oliver.

The course has been rebranded specifically for the Abu Dhabi market.
“It’s fitness training on the beach. It’s a four week course of three sessions per week,” explained Oliver. “The first session is a testing session. At the end of the four weeks we test them on that same test. It’s hard evidence so we can see how it’s improved throughout that month. During that course we obviously gear a lot of our training to having those people improve.”
Oliver reported that a women-only programme would begin in September, called ‘Wonder Woman’ and that the boot-camp fitness sessions would be part of a larger portfolio from the company, which also provides personal fitness training and corporate fitness.
The company is currently operating in association with the Al Raha Beach Hotel and the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel and Resort.
