The Middle East's general managers have named Accor the hotel group that they would least like to work for.
Fourty-four-percent of respondents in the Hotelier Middle East GM Survey 2009 - which took in the opinions of 93 Middle East-based general managers - said that, based on experience or reputation, they would seek to avoid working for the French hospitality group, in spite of the fact that just 10% had actually worked for Accor in the past.
Golden Tulip, Rotana, Coral and Bavaria all fared little better, coming in at disapproval ratings of around 40%.
However, not a single GM who took the survey said that, based on their own experience or the companies’ reputations, they would try to avoid working for Six Senses Resorts or Four Seasons.

And the region’s general managers also proved themselves to be an extremely loyal bunch of employees. On average, GMs have been with their current company for almost 12 years, while more than one-in-four had been with their employer for more than 20 years.
Starwood, InterContinental and Hilton appeared, at some point, on most of the GMs’ CVs, with 41%, 36% and 29% respectively having worked for those hospitality giant.
