Lufthansa has announced it will be offering daily flights between Bahrain and Germany as of September 22, to meet growing demand from business travellers.
The service will replace the carrier’s current Manama to Frankfurt flights, which operate four days per week.
The route will be operated by a Boeing 737-800 Intercontinental aircraft which will fly directly between the cities.
Lufthansa’s regional manager for Bahrain and the eastern province of Saudi Arabia, Schaher Murad, said the service would include 32 “long haul” business class seats and a 60-seat economy section.

“The 737-800 Intercontinental to be operated on our Bahrain-Frankfurt route is a state-of-the-art product in terms of cabin comfort, in-flight entertainment and aircraft technology,” he claimed.
“Most importantly, it allows us to increase the number of flights on the route by 75%, even in today’s adverse overall economic environment."
As part of its current global expansion regime, the carrier has also added a number of new destinations in the USA and Puerto Rico to its offering, after signing a partnership agreement with JetBlue.
Lufthansa currently serves seven destinations throughout the Middle East.
