The Dubai Travel and Tour Agents Group (DTTAG) is concerned that joining the recently-formed Gulf Travel & Tourism Associations Committee (GTTAC) could force the group into making decisions that did not comply with Dubai laws.
“The issue we have with joining GTTAC is that it involves bringing together several governments, each with individual rules and regulations,” explained DTTAG president Iain Andrew. “Legally, we couldn’t be forced into any decisions.”
On the positive side, DTTAG manager Leo Fewtrell said: “If joining GTTAC means more negotiating power with airlines and bodies such as IATA, as well as the cross-fertilisation of best practices, then great.”
