The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre has been named the host venue for the inaugural Middle East edition of SIAL, one the world’s largest exhibition for the global food industry.
The exhibition centre, owned by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), will host the event, which is expected to promote new ideas, innovations and business for the region’s food industry, from November 15-17, 2010.
Held every two years in Paris, SIAL attracts more than 147,000 visitors from 185 countries, who come to meet over 5,500 exhibitors from 101 countries.
ADNEC marketing director Paul Vincent said: “We are very pleased to be chosen as the host venue for this important industry event and believe SIAL Middle East is an excellent new addition to the expanding portfolio of exhibitions hosted at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Bernard Becker, chairman of SIAL organisers Comexposium, said: “The Middle East is one of the most buoyant markets and we look forward to introducing the brand in Abu Dhabi.”
SIAL Middle East will join the SIAL network of exhibitions held in Paris, Shanghai, Montreal and Buenos Aires; the first Parisian show took place back in 1964.
