Fine wine and luxury spirit retailer Le Clos, located at Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport, has achieved an in-house milestone with the sale of its oldest and most exclusive bottle of wine ever sold through the store.
The bottle in question, a magnum of Château Latour 1947, is “almost unique in the market”, according to a company spokesperson — not only due to its age, but also its collectability as one of the finest wines ever produced.
Then spokesperson added: “This sale demonstrates that despite the current economic uncertainty, visitors to Dubai International Airport are still looking for high quality premium opportunities.”

Ben Odgers, head of Le Clos, said that the outlet’s first year sales had surpassed expectations — “especially given the current climate”.
“Given the right product, in a great environment supported with knowledgeable and friendly staff, we have found a real niche with an increasing number of loyal customers,” he added.
Le Clos was launched in October 2008 as a new luxury fine wine and spirits retail venture for Maritime & Mercantile International (MMI).
