Renowned chef and TV personality Gary Rhodes has revealed that he will introduce his new Dubai outlet at this week’s Taste of Dubai food festival.

Rhodes Twenty10, located at Le Royal Méridien, Dubai, will provide a steakhouse concept “with a new twist”, Rhodes confirmed in an interview with Caterer Middle East earlier this week.

“I never imagined that one day we’d have a restaurant here in the Middle East — now to be opening our second is just so exciting,” he said.

“The site at Le Royal Méridien used to be Prime Rib restaurant, and we’re not trying to be so much different, but rather recreate that style of Prime Rib with a new twist,” he explained.

“We’re going to make sure that you the guest are in control of what you want to eat, and not just having what the menu tells you that you should eat.

“So many restaurants you go to, whether they be steakhouses, rib rooms or whatever, stipulate ‘this steak comes with this sauce, that potato, these vegetables, and that’s it’, he continued.

“But we’re making sure with our menu that you choose absolutely everything, even down to salads and what vinaigrettes and dressings they come with.

“And with the starters, I want to introduce a sharing element. To me, food is all about sharing, about family and friends coming together. So I want to offer another edge to our starters that really means sharing," he explained.

“Ultimately, what I want to show at Taste of Dubai is that it’s a completely different style to what you’ll find at Rhodes Mezzanine,” Rhodes added.

Taste of Dubai runs from March 17-20 at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre and Park, featuring 20 of Dubai's top restaurants and chefs offering visitors a taste of their signature dishes.
