The Pavilion Dive Centre, situated at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, recently hosted the first Disabled Diver Instructor course, the only one of its kind in the Middle East, aimed at mobilising individuals with disabilities to enjoy the treasures of the ocean.
The two day programme organised in conjunction with Tawasul, the UAE marine environmental awareness group and Disabled Divers International; was open to all Independent Instructors in the U.A.E and was successfully completed for the first time by 10 instructors, now qualified to serve the local community.
In accordance with Jumeirah’s dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility, the expense of the instructor’s training was jointly subsidised by Jumeirah Group and Tawasul as part of their shared commitment to make diving more accessible for the disabled community and to support the social inclusion and social empowerment of people with disabilities.
