The UAE reported the highest number of rooms in the Middle East and Africa hotel development pipeline, with 55,165 rooms, according to the July STR Global Construction Pipeline Report released this week.

The report, which shows the MEA hotel development pipeline to have 455 hotels totaling 126,273 rooms, has put Saudi Arabia in second place with 17,283 rooms in the total active pipeline and 8,544 rooms in the In Construction phase.

Among the key markets in the region, Dubai ended the month with the largest number of rooms in the total active pipeline, with 32,686 rooms, and in the In Construction phase with 17,162 rooms, followed by neighboring emirate Abu Dhabi, which has 14,641 rooms in the total active pipeline and 8,544 rooms in the In Construction phase.
