A gala ceremony at the Park Hyatt Hotel Dubai next Monday (September 27) will see the catering industry’s leading lights handed prestigious trophies over a total of 15 categories.

Some 53 individual nominees have made it onto Caterer Middle East’s award’s shortlist, including 10 of the region’s top chefs. Also up for gongs on the night will be what our panel of six expert judges have deemed to be the best bar, best restaurant and best suppliers of 2010.

Five restaurants and five of the region's top bars are vying for the accolades.

The judging panel is made up of leading experts from a cross-section of the industry has made its choices of who the winners on the night are. Over recent weeks the identities of the shortlisted nominees in each category were revealed online.

Monday  will mark the second year of the awards and the first time that the winners will be celebrated in a ceremony attended by the top players in the industry.

This year, a new award will recognise the dedication and commitment of an individual who our expert judging panel has singled out as The Kitchen Hero of the Year.

The award is designed to salute an individual who consistently travels beyond the call of duty for both his/her outlet and team.

Guests at the event will enjoy a meal in the Park Hyatt and take part in the building excitement as the awards winners are announced.

Caterer Magazine’s October edition will feature comprehensive coverage of the event and our website www.hoterliermiddleeast.com will provide additional coverage, including videos from the event.

Editor of Caterer Middle East, Eamonn Houston, said that the awards and the event are aimed at celebrating the F&B sector in the region.

“It is an privilege for ITP and everyone at Caterer Middle East and Hotelier Middle East to be able to, once again, honour those in the industry that have emerged as the best in the business over the past year," he said.

“It is also a great opportunity for us to engage with the industry in a wonderful setting and atmosphere and we are really looking forward to what is sure to be an exciting evening at Park Hyatt.”
