Rhodes Mezzanine bagged the prestigious Restaurant of the Year award at the Caterer Middle East awards.

“Its consistency is second to none, it’s consistency and innovation over the year has been hugely impressive,” said judge Michael Kitts.

Judging panelist Halima Anderson simply said: “I think they’ve done it”. Rhodes Mezzanine is the brand extension from UK celebrity chef Gary Rhodes and fought off stiff competition, not least from fellow UK celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s Verre at Hilton, Dubai Creek.

The judges were unanimously impressed by the restaurant.

Rhodes Mezzanine opened in September 2007 and has gone on to become an institution in the Dubai restaurant scene. Over the years it has been an active part in promoting the scene, not only on a national level but also internationally, by taking part in events and festivals such as Taste of Dubai and by bringing over internationally acclaimed chefs to cook in the restaurant.

Chef Paul Lupton said the restaurant's winning streak was down to: "a lot of care and hard work."

He added: "It’s good to win something judged by the industry and to be highly regarded by the industry. It’s part of what we do, we have worked in this industry for many years and its great to be recognised amongst your peers."

Natissa Bouhezila, outlet manager added: "It’s great. It’s a huge release for us." She put the success of the team down to passion for the job.

"It’s passion, and making everyone part of one team from the kitchen to the service staff. When you love the job you will be successful."
