In the F&B industry's biggest event of the year, 12  individuals and three supplier companies were crowned the best of 2010.

The coveted Chef of the Year accolade went to a delighted Christophe Prud’homme, executive chef, Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai.

Ziyad Hejamady received Caterer Middle East’s first Kitchen Hero award while Sous Chef of the Year 2010 was awarded to David Miras of Le Meridien, al Aqah Beach Resort, Fujairah.

The shortlisted candidates had the vocal support of their colleagues during a night full of anticipation. Guests at the event enjoyed a meal and the building excitement in Park Hyatt as each category winner was revealed.

Each of those who triumphed was presented with a special Caterer Middle East trophy and will be featured in the October edition of the magazine.

A seven-strong judging panel made up of leading experts from a cross-section of the industry decided the winners on the night.

Caterer Middle East editor Eamonn Houston said that the awards were an opportunity to celebrate and recognise those in the industry who had shown exceptional dedication and talent over the past year.

“This was a great evening of celebration and recognition and really shows the high standards that have been set by the industry in the region. From the executive chef, to the bartender and the kitchen hero we have seen the best in the Middle East tonight,” he said.
