Peter Avram from Jumeirah Beach Hotel took the Food and Beverage Manager of the Year award sponsored by San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
Presented by Sandra Husseini, Area Manager Middle East, Africa, Russia & CIS at The Hotelier Middle East Awards on Thursday, the award was given for Avram's important part in protecting the F&B division’s bottom line during the economic downturn.
At the same time, internal surveys have shown that the morale amongst F&B staff has improved notably, an achievement that was praised by the judges.

Avram said: “I feel like this is an extraordinary privilege. I wish to thank my team for their constant support and I would like to make a special mention of my general manager Margaret Paul who has been an inspiration to me throughout my time at the hotel.”
Ricky Tursunov, Crowne Plaza Sohar and Norbert Borszcz, InterContinental Jeddah were both Highly Commended.
