The most important indicator of the overall safety of an airline is how it is regulated by its nation's civil aviation authority. Airlines operating large capacity passenger aircraft in the major industrialized countries have to follow the strictest safety regulations. Just as importantly, the airports and air traffic control system have to adhere to similarly high standards. Beyond that, use your good common sense. If an airline is notorious for poor on time performance, lots of passenger complaints, and severe financial problems, then perhaps it is time to find an alternative airline. While there are some airlines with no fatal plane crashes, it doesn't mean that these airline is safe, since fatal crashes are very rare for airlines of every size. I feel safe with JetBlue Airways and SouthWest Airlines within the US, and Emirates Airlines from and to anywhere in the Middle East. FYI, China and India airlines have some of the worse safety records amongst airlines in the world.

It is not a good news about this incident , considering the recent Air Crash's in the news and this incidence, it might caused death on the aircraft if there were any heart patient, I believe that, the pilots are given sufficient time to rest after their flights as per the rules, as Pilots being the key responsible person for hundreds of life's on the aircraft, they must go through medical examination for stress and other basic test necessary before every flight. I believe Professionals at such responsible jobs should be very vigilant during the flight. I wish all the Pilots the very best and safe journey to all the passengers. I hope taking some minor safety measures, we can avoid such incidents or crash. Regards

Would this happen to an airbus 320? Would not the software prevent the aircraft from going into a structural border issue? Also, I notice with some airlines that whenever a cockpit crew member exits the cockpit, he or she is replaced by a flight attendant to be able to open the cockpit door in an emergency. What if the override code did not work or the pilot forgot it? I think some adjustment in that company's cockpit evacuation rules need to have a PIO (potential improvement opportunity).

It is another stupid action from a co-pilot. It is just a matter of having "presence of mind" and a "BIG common sense". No matter how you learn in school and in textbooks or whatever, Without it, nobody can go farther coz in real life and in real actions, life are driven not thru textbooks applications only. We drive our life by using our mind and commonse sense and apply what we have learn in school and textbooks. I am just wondering why the hell an airline will put somebody into such kind of responsibility? He should be given land training first for presence of mind and common sense. If he passes that, then probably he can be put in air.
