Nothing can take the place of smelling the fresh air and green grass in the morning. This is just another way of us getting back to nature and saving the planet.

Although the UAE and countries around the region have made an admirable push into the "eco-friendly" resorts, it is also important to take into consideration their use of local products in construction / consumables (food, water, toilet paper....) and more importantly the hiring of local citizens to staff and manage the premises. How can it be "eco-friendly" when they have flown all their staff in from 1/2 around the world, creating a huge carbon footprint. These are 5 star resorts, not a bad environment in which to work (not only the pyhsical struture, but also high paying clientele who are USUALLY better mannered), so the hotels should focus also on hiring and training Emiratis, Bahrainis, Qataris, etc. This is what will help advance the country and allow them to transfer their "pride of place" of having such extraordinary ecosystems in their own country, and hopefully teach the importance of conservation to the average Joe Emirati. - great arcticle Daniel
