When we conducted an online discussion before the 2002 International Year of Ecotourism, we had a great dialogue among big and small operators. After the Summit, the conversation fragmented among proponents of various terms - ecotourism, responsible tourism, geotourism and the like. In the past decade we have not seen the dialogues and conversations necessary to connect the dots. Mass tourism can be greener, can be more responsible, can be more engaging for locals and visitors alike. But we need better conversations, better opportunities to look at the situation warts and all. Enough finger pointing. How do we collaborate?!
