How come they are only prosecuting the 2 indians and only deporting the Italian and the Austrian?

I guess, because the main role was played by Indians, however, Italian & Austrian should be called by the court, at least. But I guess again, since they are not Indians so may be Jumeirah can help them to fly back. Why Indians, because they are not Europeans.

... because they were the ones with the final say on what food was purchased. The two Europeans its says 'Approached him and told him he should...' if they were as culpable as the other two gentlemen I am sure they would not have been deported without trial. It sounds like a cover story anyway. The problem in India and over here is corruption is rife, it will take a seimic shift in attitudes and personality to change that that. Indian people are far too suseptable to brides, that is not a stereotype and I have seen that in person after living in the UAE for 5 years.

Regardless of the Nationality all should be questioned by the court. Moreover Burj Al Arab Management should question the Procurement (very easy for procurement to check whether out of the total purchase if the percentage is higher to particular suppliers) and also the same goes to the Cost Controller(. Finance Dept also plays a part in controlling purchases and cost. If this has been happening for a long time then the Finance must have been sleeping. If not good job. A trend that can be seen nowadays is most hotels are not counting on experience people to man these crucial post due to the fact that the salary paid for inexperienced people or those in second in command are way less. In order to reduce the pay roll most companies take staff on a reduced salary as compared to an experienced person and thereby increasing corruption, pilferage etc. I would say that even the companies who gave the bribe should be questioned and a warning and a fine imposed on them

Jumeirah need to seriously look at their procurement procedures; total lack of control going on in the back of house, F&B and Finance departments. Heads should roll

These all things happened because procurment department does not have control on the purchases and seems purchasing policeis are not being followed. As an experienced purchasing official I know that Chefs influence is more in purchases. To avoid these things now all management should think about it and power of purchasing, negotiationg, supplier selections must be done by purchasing department and all other departments must not allow to see the suppleirs.

Jumeirah's procurement department is actually useless, if anyone happne to work there, will find, their stores are full of equipments and with all those items even which are not required. Almost every second person is involved in this comission system there, only those who not been careful so were caught. This matter is not that big to bring it to the court, it can be resolved internally at property level, I guess the GM there is either might be sleeping or have no authority. BAA is Govt owned property but still GM should solve matters internally, why they were referred to court, and why other 2 were deported without being questioned. Well, Jumeirah is famous for discrimination, and unfair decisions, and senior authorities at property level are appointed based on references only and with pre-mature background. So it will happen, having large or 5* hotels does not mean everything is just perfect.

well no matter where but in the court of law there should no discrimination regarding nationalities. Basically looking into the hierarchy the two indians we following the instructions ....so the actual decision comes from two europeans who were deported with out questioning. By law all the four people involved should summoned to court.

first of all the two european were questioned and not charged ,but left the country without any further issue with whatsoever and no pending matter with jumeirah .there was no deportation or charges after investigation . i think that before you comment or judge you should know the facts. the two person that are on trial are the one that were involved . there is no discrimination in there . the statement that you read in the magazine comes from the person that is actually on trial for taking bribes.
