Chef Murugan is an inspirational person I have met in my hotel career. He is different in many aspects of how he operates the team. He is such a great leader who always keen and focus on developing the team... He is some one who strongly belives in making the team stronger is not a threat to him but a strength. I had the privillage of working with him for a period of 3 years before he was promoted as the Executive Chef of Hilton Fujairah. Apart from his culinary expertise he is really strong in general management and creative thinking; having him in a meeting always makes a positive and productive outcome. His hard work and dedication towards the industry is evidence when you look at the junior chefs who has built a career with the guidance of Chef Muruigan. Many of them have shown their capability at variuos culinary competitions held in Middle-East. He definitely deserved to be considered to be the winner of the Hotelier Award for Chef of the Year

I had been regularly staying at Hilton Fujairah Resort Hotel by virtue of my work at Fujairah since 2009. Each stay is for about 10 nights and with monthly visits, I began referring to it as my second home. But then, the distinction between house and home is the type of people therein. Chef Murugan is one such staff of Hilton Fujairah Resort Hotel that caused me to refer to it as a home. Realizing my frequent visitations, he very quickly took pains to insure that my breakfasts had some personal touch, which pleased not only my palette but my sense of well-being as well. Always smiling and cordial, he extended himself even to other aspects of my comfort, like continuously sticking around till my internet connectivity problems got resolved, asking if I needed anything else and most recently, providing me with an excellent roadmap for my drive to Dubai. Always professionally attired, I find him worthy of his designation and stature and mostly, with an attitude aptly suited for the hospitality industry. I would not hesitate to nominate him for Chef of the year 2012 as the culinary skills he possesses, coupled with an ever-pleasing disposition, should garner him some laurels. To this extent, I wish him all the very best and would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to him as well. Thank you, Chef Murugan, for all the warmth and care. God Bless!
