How can The GM of Shangrila, Masselink even claim this theory when his hotel has been delayed for 4 years and they have no presence in the Doha market. It is damaging to Qatari Hotel industry to invite such a n un-experienced and novice speaker to such an important platform. Where as the message of the GM OF Four Seasons, Mr Casson makes more common sense. Not only does he identify an issue but also offers a practical advise. If the GM Doha debate has to make sense in future then they should stop inviting unexperienced and novice speakers like Masselink who do more harm to the Qatari Hospitality future with their silly remarks.

I agree with Mark. I give credit to Qatar to host such important dicsussion platforms, but it is important to invite speakers who makes sense and who can contribute meaningfull message to the debate. Mr Masselink seems to be out of touch with the Doha market and his comments will only fuel negativeness in the hotel industry. He should open his eyes and see how well Qatar has done over the past few years compare to Europe where he comes from, where 5* hotels keeps running out of hot water on regualr basis.
