With many people jobless perhaps it's a good idea to be creative in jobs. That is the only thing I could think of as having a project like that with many people suffering in this world from lack of jobs, food etc....

i agree that mic is an legend icon in music and entertainment world. with all that respect if some personnal approch to name a club or building on their name we can understand, but building an multi purpose island on their name and shape i think its a blunder of mind, on a person whos personnel life was a desaster, please don't try to forse people to follow dirty godess at least in a country where a little hope of tredition and belives are still alive

Not as grand as an island, but more visible and accessible. To be located in all the main capitals in the world where Michael Jackson has performed, a garden with a curved memorial wall in marble or stone portraying six silhouetted dancing and singing iconic images i.e. as a child (ABC?) in his twenties (Rock With You pose, Billie Jean dance pose on toes, moonwalk with hat pose, Smooth Criminal lean and in his fifties (This Is It arms outstretched upwards with glove). Five most poignant poems written between these images. Facing the wall two seats with the best inset photographs of him, from dvds. Blame it on the Boogie, Don't Stop Until You Get Enough, that smile at Eddie Murphy from Remember The Time, and the wink from Smooth Criminal. In the centre two large globes, one, the Earth showing an image of him, arms spread, from Earth Song, and the other the Moon, illuminated at night, with an image of him doing the moonwalk on the side. Then if the best of his songs could be heard playing from the globes constantly in the background, this would be wonderful. I don't know if he recorded in other languages besides English, but, if so, these could be played in the relevant country if possible. Suggested songs - ABC, Another Part Of Me, Black Or White, Blame It On The Boogie, Billie Jean, Can You Feel It? Dirty Diana, Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, Don't Walk Away, Earth Song, Give In To Me, Heal The World, Human Nature, I Can't Stop Loving You, I Wanna Be Starting Something, Man In The Mirror, One Day In Your Life, Rock With You, Smile, She's Out Of My Life, Speechless, Smooth Criminal, This Is It, Thriller, Whatever Happens, You Are My World, You Rock My World, 2000 Watts.

I think it's a ridiculously expensive idea to build an island here as a memorial to MJ. With all due respect to who he was, the financial status by all means isn't great at the moment for UAE. People are having difficulties in completing their existing projects! Thinking about another one here is simply way too much of a hassle. Rather than building a memorial for him, why not spend that money on behalf of his name to places where it is needed the most...for a change!!!

Thank you for your email. Yes, I agree that the island off Dubai is O.T.T. I did not suggest that. I want to make an added suggestion that, in those memorial gardens I put forward in the world's capitals,(see my last email) that small Michael Jackson Memorial Theatres be built where all his video films can be shown and enjoyed; also a bronze statue of him in the entrance hall. The curved marble/stone wall should bear the inscription 'Michael Joseph Jackson, American singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer. 1958 - 2009. around the top. Is this the best website to leave my suggestion?

My name is Pablo, I am Mic Jackson impersonator from Manila. Can I perform on island when built? We hold memorial in manila for Mic - it was very moving. 1000 impersonators with silver glove singing we are the world. we could sing on world island. please let me know how we can work to make this happen.

The island image mock-up seems to have been taken from the infamous pic of Jackson holding Bubbles, with the monkey omitted from the likeness. Who's decision was this? Bring back the monkey I say!
