During these difficult times it is important to be at the very top of your game. Competition among restaurants in the UAE is fierce, with venues vying for a top spots in their respective cuisines in order to keep customers coming back. It is important to differentiate from other restaurants and build a loyal base from which to grow and attract more patrons. For a new restaurant launching in Dubai I would expect to read all of the usual superlatives around the food, d?cor and experience in order to attract the discerning Dubai diner. However, it was quite refreshing to read Mr. George?s comments on the shiny and new Nozomi. ??we don?t focus on food so much as the dining and lifestyle experience.? I would have thought that the very fundamentals of any ?dining experience? is the food! Now that those words have come from the proverbial horse?s mouth, why would anyone bother to go to a restaurant that does not think that the food should be the focus. Does Mr. George think that the residents and visitors of Dubai have unsophisticated palettes, and that we are only interested in a place because it offers a ?lifestyle experience.? Seems a bit like PR suicide to me! I do appreciate the comment though. It has saved me the trouble and expense of having to try it for myself. I will stick to the other places that see the food as an integral part of both the dining and lifestyle experience!
