Hope good sense prevails for the greater glory of sensibilities. The Qatari government has probably miscalculated the negative impact this would have on its economy and standing in the rest of the world. While the earlier decision reeked of callousness, this one does sound like they have indeed woken up to the fact that they could be in for some serious losses to the burgeoning hospitality industry- some of whom have spent millions of dollars since Qatar last hosted the Asian Games.
