i totally agree, i have contacted trip advisor many times to clarify many questions i had, but they always refused to give me a clear and transparent answer..trip advisor is just a commercial money making website and nothing else... even if all your guests are 100% satisfied with their stays in your hotels, it doesnt mean that you will get a high rank on their web..they need you to pay them money on marketing and advs then you might be lucky to jump up the ladder... Expedia same version, why do they need 25% commission on bookings????
