Lets see in couple months if this statement is true. Hotels (Like most businesses here) do not wish to spend unless THEY ARE FORCED to. Nobody cares about customer service quality or security or higiene. They only act when they receive the "FAX". They buy a system but look for the cheapest (or look for one that ensures interests of procurement dept/security head of client), do not train their staff (as they want to be trained for free), or do not maintain the Systems (since they do not want to pay for annual maintenance contracts). I have seen hotels that have the cams. but not the DVRs!!! or both but not the connection. We are lucky that Dxb Police is there and runs reliable systems. PS: I am not generalizing, but, still its the common mentality here, a traders mentality.

Apart from government and other officials, people who are planning to visit Dubai in coming months are also cautious about security conditions in Dubai and it is very good decision taken by Dubai hotels. And they are improving their security decisions.

As per your report: ?We know from a number of hotel operators that the scale of upgrade taking place since the Dubai incident is on a multi-million dirham basis with one new property alone reporting that it is virtually doubling the number of cameras it is installing to almost 200,? Tinston explained. ?Installation companies also report the amount of business from hotels increasing by up to 40 percent since the incident. In particular, cameras with better resolutions are being sought for clearer monitoring of entrances, lobbies, corridors and hotel car parks.? The Fact: Everybody wants systems to be expanded and installed, but without any sort of payments to be issued to the Contractor. They are saying that its because of the "financial Crisis ", whereas in reality they have 60-80% occupancy and they are charging the guests on cash and not on credit. I am working with a leading Integrator, we dropped couple of projects from "reputed" properties just because of payment issues. Its just blackmailing the contractors by the properties, they just want to get their work done at the cheapest rates possible and run their business on our money. Needless to say, the above mentioned "projects" are not awarded till date since they are still hoping to get someone get the work done for they without any advance payments.
