'It brings gold to the public...it demystifies it'?! What a load of rubbish! Where this Thomas Geissler has really struck gold is by finding a place daft enough to actually purchase such a machine.

This is an excellent idea particulary the visitors with short stay and busy schedule can buy gold even at the hotel not just in malls & airport where rates are way too high compared with the international market rates. Well done and hope more such machines can be installed in safe places.

I do not think it is such a good idea to buy rare & precious metals from a vending machine. Do you get a certificate with your purchase for insurance purposes? For an establishment like Emirates Palace, I would expect better class & exclusivity than to sell gold bars like candy bars. If you come to South Africa & I?m sure any other place in the world where gold is being mined, you will find it is the poverty stricken people who work in the gold mines. Even though they will never know, keep gold exclusive for the sake of the mine workers. If you must, please buy form labour supportive organizations. www.metcon.co.za

my personal opionion......buying gold in any shape or form from a vending machine is the cheapest selling gimmick created in the uae...!!!! this is how low one can go....anything for sales!!!!! topping this up is the location.... needless to say...would you immagine this in the Ritz Carlton in London????

I like the novelty of it. If the selling price is within market norms (current price per ounce + small fee) I'll give it a go.
