EMF Emirates, a subsidiary of EMF Trading, and exclusive distributor in the UAE for chocolate, confectionary and baking ingredients for pastry chefs, opened its second UAE branch in Abu Dhabi yesterday.

The grand opening was attended by H.E. Kris Peeters, Head of the Flemish Government, H.E. Anick Van Calster, Belgian Ambassador to the UAE and Claire Tillekaerts, general manager of Flanders Investment and Trade, as well as EMF Group's chairman Elias Feghali and EMF Emirates general manager Pierre Feghali.

Speaking ahead of the ribbon cutting, Feghali said that the decision to open a branch in Abu Dhabi was a strategic one, as up to 20% of the company’s business came from the emirate. He also revealed plans for further branches in the Middle East.

H.E Kris Peeters said the UAE was an important place for business and praised the opening of EMF Emirates’ second branch in the county.

“I think it is very positive that companies like this invest in Europe and bring products from Flanders to the UAE,” he said.
