Corp Executive Hotel Deira in Riyadh has achieved nearly 60 per cent Saudisation, just six months after opening, with 41 out of the total staff team of 70 comprising Saudi nationals.

“We are delighted to have Saudi nationals working in a variety of positions, ranging from kitchen stewards and room attendants through to front office receptionists and bell boys, as well as a strong representation in the sales department and at management level,” said general manager Akram Shaar.

According to Shaar, the success of the HR department and management policy in attracting and training Saudi staff underlines the potential to develop the local component of any hotel operation in the Kingdom.

“This level of commitment is already contributing to the strong launch of our property, with guests showing their appreciation of a real feeling of Saudi hospitality – and we also welcome the opportunity to provide opportunities in the thriving hospitality industry to those locals who wish to pursue a career in this arena,” Shaar continued.

Corp Executive Hotels, a division of HMH (Hospitality Management Holdings), has plans for a further four hotels throughout Saudi Arabia.

“This planned expansion highlights the career potential for Saudi nationals who can achieve the levels of professionalism demonstrated at a Corp hotel,” said Shaar. “Our hotel’s aim to be the accommodation of choice for discerning business travellers, offering state-of-the-art facilities and the latest technology as well as international levels of efficiency and quality at affordable rates,” he concluded.
