Baker & Spice Bakery at Dukkan al Manzil last week played host to students and lecturers from Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management to introduce them to the art of bread making.

The students were accompanied by chef Michael Kitts, director of culinary arts, executive chef and lecturer Helen Morris and food and beverage lecturer Haresh Mohinani.

Kitts explained, “Here at The Emirates Academy, it has always been our teaching philosophy to bring the real world into the classroom and this field trip is one classic example of how we fulfil this promise to our students.

“Letting our students have an insight into the workings of a bakery will be a fantastic opportunity to bring the subject to life and we are grateful and delighted that Baker and Spice has made this possible for us. We are considering making it a required visit in the syllabus,” he added.
