Iain Andrew confirmed he has stepped down as president of the Dubai Travel and Tour Agent Group (DTTAG) after four years heading up the association.
The head of Dnata travel said he could "no longer dedicate the same amount of time to the committee" and "felt it was time to step aside."
DTTAG has struggled to galvanise support from the travel agent community in Dubai. There are currently around 70 travel agency members of DTTAG, and according to one agent only around 30 members took part in the recent executive committee election.

Andrew hit out at travel agents who criticised DTTAG without making an "any effort to improve things" for themselves.
"In the past, some Agents have criticised the DTTAG for not meeting their requirements without volunteering any effort to improve things," he said.
"As we move forward and welcome a new leader, I hope that all members will use their observations and opinions to become a force for positive change and development within DTTAG."
Andrew said he plans to remain involved in the group as an honorary board member for the next two years. DTTAG will elect a new president at its next executive committee meeting.
