“SIAL Middle East and La Cuisine by SIAL provide an ideal environment for professional chefs to network, interact, and exchange information with their peers,” he added.

Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, director of communication & community service, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and the chairman of the Higher Organising Committee for SIAL Middle East, commented: “As a regulatory body overseeing the food industry in the emirate, we believe that events such as these play a vital role in raising the standards of culinary excellence. We welcome the dynamism it brings into SIAL Middle East and we stand committed to ensuring that all food products in the emirate meet the highest standards of safety and hygiene."

The WACS Global Chef Challenge is the largest individual culinary competition in the world. The competition not only presents a great opportunity for culinary specialists to put their cooking skills and knowledge to test, but also gives them the chance to win an honour for their country.

“For the first time the Hans Bueschkens Young Chefs Challenge Semi- Finals will be held together with the Global Chefs Challenge. This will motivate young chefs to further refine their expertise and advance in the culinary field as they get exposed to the experience, information and confidence of their seniors,” Thong added.
