With just one week left to nominate for the Caterer Middle East Awards, one of last year's winners has urged the region's F&B industry to take part.

The 2010 Waiter of the Year winner Aziz Jellali said he felt his career has been given a boost since winning the award and that its importance will continue.

“I think that it has given me a positive advantage for my career, maybe to gain promotion or even to get a job with more prospects in the future," he asserted.

"I like working in F&B and want to progress my knowledge, skills and prospects to secure a good future in hospitality.

“Winning the awards was absolutely amazing; I felt it was the best recognition for all my hard work. The publicity I got was astounding as I had never experienced anything like this before. I was also so proud of my achievement and so was my family, as this is my first time working away from home and they were very happy for me,” he added.

The Caterer Awards 2011 will be held on Wednesday September 7 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, and nominations close on July 10. For more information visit www.hoteliermiddleeast.com/catererawards
