ZUMA Dubai employee Jimmy Barrat has been voted as the UAE’s leading barman, taking first prize at the coveted Diageo Reserve World Class 2011 competition.
Barrat will now take his place at the World Class Global Final in Delhi, India, to be held from 10th to 14th July.
With representatives from 34 countries around the world, he is just one of thirty-four finalists.

Organised by Italian beverage conglomerate Diageo, the Diageo Reserve World Class 2011 awards showcases some of the region’s premier mixologists and cocktail maestros, who were judged on their professional flair and in-depth understanding of spirits as well as on their grooming, personality and ability to incorporate a touch of ‘local’ flavor into their proposed concoction.
Founded in 2009, the D.R.W.C awards seek to identify the world’s leading barman, with its annual competition held across 180 markets globally. More than 9000 applications were submitted this year.
